tip of the day: keep it dry
I love incense. No, I'm not a hippie. I might have been born in the 60's, but I didn't really LIVE through the 60's. Okay, I did have Red Snap bell-bottoms... See how easily I get distracted?
I like to burn incense (outside only). I love the smell of it, and I do feel like it keeps the mosquitoes away to a degree. I have a few different types but my favorite are the long-lasting sticks. They definitely burn longer than the cones. I'm always trying to find somewhere to keep my burner and the sticks outside (lighter included) and in one place, so that I can find it all easily. My biggest problem is that most places aren't waterproof or moisture proof. I mentioned my dilemma to the hubs and he said he'd put it in the vault. You'll need to read back over a few posts to see what "the vault" is.
So he came up with the idea of a welding rod keeper. He said that welding rods have to be kept in an airtight, watertight holder. I kind of remember seeing something like this from back in the day when my dad had a welder. So I measured my incense gear, and got on Amazon. Sure enough, they had many to choose from. Some are in sections, and that didn't work for what I needed, but there were several that didn't have any compartments, just one big hole. I picked out an orange one. I wanted it to stand out. It's perfect! It has a belt clasp (and I did model it when it first arrived...) but it also has a hole on the lid and one on the container. I threaded a ribbon through both holes so I could hang it anywhere, and it now lives on the wall right by the hot tub! One of the many places I like to burn my incense. Whoohoo!
So if you need an airtight/watertight container, consider a welding rod keeper.
